Just Magnolia and a few challenges

It is a strange old week on Just Magnolia - we have some news, some sad and some good! Kim, Martine and Rach have sadly had to step down from the DT due to other commitments. Thanks so much for all your fabulous work and support ladies – you will be hugely missed. Which brings me to a little announcement. Jacque, Sheila and Jane have joined our team!! Welcome aboard ladies, we’re thrilled that you have agreed to join us. So that means lots of new styles to drool over which is always fab for the old inspiration!!

We have a really gorgeous sketch by Martine to follow and I just loved it so much - I am really going to miss your sketches sweetie. Unfortunately I have been battling with bad light due to finishing work late etc and even tried 2 different cameras (hence the slightly different colours of my pics) but nothing has helped. Will retake piccies if I get chance.

I love this image so much, I got her from The NEC a few weeks ago and am so happy I managed to pop some ink on her .... isn't she so pretty! More delish Magnolia papers too (you can buy lots of Magnolias and their papers from DTDF .... huge sale on right now on loads of products too!!)

My card also fits with these challenges ...

By the Cute and Girly - Winter Wonderland
Kaboodle Doodles - Buttons, Bows and Bling (hope the bow on my image counts, lol)
Pollycraft - Christmas
Creative Card Crew - Favourite Things All things Magnolia at the moment and of course my flowers and bling!
Papertake Weekly - Christmas Crackers
Crafty Creations - Christmas
Charisma Cardz - Anything Christmas
Colour Create - Green, Red and White
Crafty Catz - Angels and Fairies (Tilda is an angel)
The Pink Elephant - A Recipe

Phew .... that's your lot, lol ... not bad huh!
Have a lovely day xxx

Masking with Just Magnolia

Good morning and it looks lilke another grey day is ahead of us here. I hope you are all safe and not affected cy the floods I have seen on the news. We stayed in yesterday and managed to almost complete the decorating in the bedroom - what a difference it makes! Onto our challenge this week on Just Magnolia and we would love to see some masking. I love the effect of masking even though I don't always get it right first time.

I have used 2 of the new stamps from this years christmas range. Remember to stamp the image you want at the front first and then follow with your 2nd stamp (after masking off your image). Magnolia really do make the most beautiful accessory stamps and this snowflake circle is too beautiful.

I have used more of my precious Magnolia papers too - I think I will always use these now when using my Magnolia stamps because they compliment the images so well. Tracy at Dies to die for has a fabulous range of Magnolia stamps and papers as well as MS punches etc so pop over for a little look.

Lots of stickles again - Kim ..... how did I manage without it? Your cards are such an inspiration! You know me, I just had to follow a sketch and I managed to find this pretty one over at Create4fun . That's it from me - dashing off to work again so please have a great day whatever you are doing xxx

PS Sorry about the piccie - was taken last night when it was dark - will replace with decent ones over the weekend x

Just Magnolia - Mina's sketch

Hello everyone and Friday again already!! It will be Christmas before we know it! This week on Just Magnolia we have a really lovely sketch by our very own Mina . Before that though we have some wonderful news to share with you all ..... woohoo Dawny P has joined us as a permanent member of the Design Team and I am so happy! Welcome aboard chick, I can't wait to see your gorgeous Magnolia creations!!!!

I have had the chance to play with some of my new goodies that I got from the NEC last weekend. Aren't the new Magnolia images just gorgeous!! Little Tilda with mistletoe is so gorgeous in fact that lots of us used her this week ... oops! I also managed to get hold of a couple of sentiment stamps too - I just love this one so much.

I ws very brave and cut into my Magnolia papers too - OMG I think I may now need therapy, lol. The quality of these papers for any of you who have not seen them is just incredible. They are fabulously weighty papers with a really lovely texture to them .... me likey very much! I am now also the proud owner of my snowflake dies (as you may have noticed) which means I can now cut acetate snowflakes and cover them in diamond dust - woohoo!!!!!!

A little peep from another angle and that's your lot! Hope you can join us again this week and share all your wonderful interpretations of Mina's sketch xxx

Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge

Hi there, well it is the end of the week .... day 2 of the wonderful craft show at the NEC and only 1 day until I get to go and meet loads of the gorgeous ladies that make up part of the Just Magnolia Design Team ..... more later, lol.
Onto our challenge and can you believe it is time for our monthly challenge once again. Chris Dark of Sketching Stamper agreed to be our featured stamper and has done an amazing tutorial for us which you can view here .... so come on .... let's see you get

DISTRESSING!

Now as you know I am rather challenged when it comes to ripping up my papers and I do just hate it, lol .... but in the true spirit I popped out and even bought a distressing tool. The soft grip handle gave me no comfort during this heartbreaking challenge (slight overkill pulling on your heart strings, lol) but now I look at my card I realised I was more distressed than I first realised. OMG I have DESTROYED my papers good and proper - oh well in for a penny in for a pound as they say!

I am quite proud I managed to survive the experience and I just love all the gorgeous cards the DT members and Chris made. I think I will never feel really at home distressing but it was fun and I did get to buy something new which is always a bonus, rofl.

So I will love you and leave you for now but please, please come and say hello to me tomorrow afternoon at the Magnolia stand - it would be great to finally meet so many of you. I am off to check if the final girlie who is demoing has announced it on her blog yet and then I will be back to blurt it out to you all (I have done so well not telling, haha)
See you soon xxxx

Birmingham NEC - guess who is demonstrating!!!

OMG deep breaths in .... out ..... I can hardly contain myself, I am so excited. I was going to try and wait to post this news with my card tomorrow but I just can't wait that long. As you know I am going to the NEC on Saturday with the gorgeous Bev (ear plugs required for the rest of the passengers on our train, lol) and meeting up with lots of JM girlies and other friends and bloggers. Well ....... I am going to be demonstrating for Magnolia (OMG OMG!!!!) in the afternoon with another lovely person. She is going to announce it on her blog later in the week so I am going to keep quiet about it for now (difficult I know, lol).
You will also be able to drool over 2 other gorgeous ladies' work on Saturday morning. Tab and another secret stamper (until she posts on her blog) will be showing their amazing colouring skills.
I have never done this before so please stop by and say hi if you see me and remember to be nice to me cos I am ever so scared .... no joke, I am losing sleep already. Anyway, I just had to tell you all. Hopefully I will get to see even more of you this way too rather than hoping to bump into you whilst shopping, eating and chatting.

Just Magnolia

Woohoo, it is Friday again and time to play along with us all at Just Magnolia . Thankyou for all taking part last week, I really enjoyed popping over to see lots of your lovely creations. This week we would like to see you make something that is ...

MONOCHROMATIC

Don't worry, you can use white in your creations like many of the DT have. Just pick your favourite colour and then use lots of shades of that colour to make your card. I have used lilacs .... I just adore purple so much, deffo my fave colour in crafting ... or is it, lol.

I had a slight emergency .... my E00 ran out whilst colouring little Tilda but some ink is on its way to me so she will have a little touch up when it arrives .... my first pen to run out ... scary! I have used some more of these pretty snowflakes that I found at the range, I really do like them.

A little look from a different angle to see the different layers. I followed the sketch over on Sketch and Stash ... my new stash this week are my snowflakes - expect to see more of these over the next few weeks! I have also decided to enter my card in this weeks Simon Says Stamp challenge which is 'All that Sparkles' and also Creative Card Crew which is snowflakes.
I hope you all get chance to play along. Don't forget to pop over to the challenge blog for details of this weeks sponsor and also to feast your eyes on the other DT's amazing creations
